What day does Lausd go back to school? As a result of the board’s decision, the start day of instruction for the fall semester on most campuses will be Aug. 16 — one day sooner than had been initially suggested — and the last day of school will be June 10 — likewise one day earlier than had been originally intended.
PREVIOUS May 13: Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest school district in the country, is closing all schools effective Monday, March 16. The shutdown is for two weeks as district officials “evaluate the appropriate path forward”. The measure impacts more than 700,000 students. Teaching is expected to continue remotely.
To help accommodate the testing requirement, the LAUSD announced the start of the spring semester for K-12 students will be pushed back to Tuesday, Jan. 11. District employees will return to campuses Monday for a “Pupil Free Day.”
