As dancers begin to master classical ballet’s basic curriculum following Beginning 4, their development as young artists takes on a new level. At this point of their training, they are placed in the Transition Intermediate classes. These classes are attended in specified pairs of days.

Dancers will continue to develop their classical ballet skills with challenging training and additional opportunities. Advanced level classes will continue to develop dancer flexibility, precision, attention to detail, musicality, increased artistry, and correct classical technique.

Intermediate Ballet Age/Skill Level: Adult Class Descriptions Genre: Classes This class is for the more advanced student with a minimum of five years of training. A deep knowledge and understanding of ballet terminology, ballet technique alignment principles, and execution of principle ballet technique are expected.

If I were an intermediate teacher, I’d say: secure and stable turns, able to hold turn out, comfortable with terminology and aware of body positions, able to start handling memorization of a string of combinations during barre, petite allegro, and big jumps.
