Beginners classes and Knife Making classes available. In your Beginners Blacksmithing class, we will cover the blacksmithing skills of drawing out, upsetting, bending, quenching, and scrolling. You will learn how to hand-forge a project using a forge, anvil, hammers, and tongs.
Each class is dedicated to forging one specific style of blade. The style of blade will rotate. Styles will include, Camp Knives, Kukri, and Daggers. The first day is dedicated to forging the steel, and learning the particulars of a good heat treat on a larger knife.
This class is designed to give you a successful start. Each class is limited to two to three students, which provides a personal teaching atmosphere not found in most other schools. Each student will have a forge and anvil to work with, and all tools and materials are provided. Classes are held monthly to accommodate most schedules.
