Students pursuing an online MBA in entrepreneurship encounter various factors that can impact the length of their program. Typically, full-time students take two years to complete their online MBA program. However, part-time enrollment is a great option for students who need maximum flexibility in their online MBA. For students who want to complete their MBA as quickly as possible, many colleges and universities offer online MBA for entrepreneurs programs in accelerated formats. Students enrolled in accelerated programs can double the number of credits they earn each semester to complete their program in less than two years.

Online MBA Degree Accreditation
Students seeking an online MBA degree in entrepreneurship must ensure that the program they are enrolling in is accredited. There are two main types of accreditation: regional and national. Students who attend nationally accredited institutions typically focus on courses that focus on technical and professional training and topics. At these institutions, students typically do not take liberal arts courses. Nationally accredited programs often have lower tuition costs than regionally accredited programs, but they also tend to be excluded from many tuition reimbursement plans.

Credits are not always easily transferable from a nationally accredited institution. Therefore, students who plan to continue their education or obtain certain certifications should consider transfer requirements before enrolling in a nationally accredited college or university. Regionally accredited institutions focus primarily on liberal arts courses. While these institutions often charge higher tuition than nationally accredited colleges and schools, they are included in most tuition reimbursement plans and credits are more easily transferable.

Both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) play an important role in accreditation. Although the ED does not administer accreditation, it oversees accrediting agencies to ensure that quality education is maintained in accredited programs by setting standards and ensuring that programs meet those standards. CHEA operates as an organization of degree-granting colleges and universities. Students can access the ED website or the CHEA website for a list of all accredited schools in the United States.
